Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy was developed by osteopaths, originally living in the United States. They noticed that so-called “fibrous” or “immovable” joints, actually did move, but very slightly. The constant and rhythmic movement of these joints (about the width of a piece of paper), was due to something called the craniosacral pump. This rhythmic pump alters the pressure of the cerebral spinal fluid, in the brain and spinal column causing the entire body to flex and extend but only very slightly.
The craniosacral therapist listens to these rhythms with their hands. This is really all it takes to facilitate the body’s own healing mechanism. If the rhythm is listened to, well enough, the rhythm will naturally come to a stop, and at this point, a release occurs within the body. This release is usually a past trauma (a story) stored within the body. Releasing these traumas can create a dramatic return to better health.
In some cases, it can even save a person from dying.
This technique is a prime example of how the body is always working to heal itself. The craniosacral therapist is only a facilitator for the client’s own healing. In this way, all healing is simply self-healing. This is a hands-on technique with very light pressure. It will feel more like an energy healing technique (something like reiki), but remember that it is based on actual physiological function. The only thing to do during the treatment is to relax as much as possible. Falling asleep during the treatment can be optimal. This technique if done easily through clothing with no disrobing necessary. A typical session lasts 1 to 1 1⁄2 hours. You might not feel that much is happening during your treatment. The technique is very subtle, and not everyone can feel such subtle energy, but the effects can still be profound, even if you don't have the sensitivity to feel what is happening. Andrew Weil (the great wellness and integrative medical doctor) once said that one of the greatest healers he had ever met in his travels around the world was an old osteopath in his own backyard in Tucson, Arizona. This man was named Robert Fulford. Mr. Fulford used to be a practicing surgeon. He gave up surgery to solely do craniosacral therapy. I had the good fortune to watch Dr. Fulford work on my daughter when she was only 7 days old. I was amazed at how masterfully he helped my daughter heal from her birth trauma. We are all on a healing journey together. Our healing is all about connecting to who we really are.
We are so fortunate to have loving help from others along the way. The journey is the destination.

Picture yourself immersed in the sounds of the forest, the scent of the trees, mosses and damp soil, the dapple sunlight playing through the leaves, the fresh, clean air... We all know how good nature can make us feel, we crave for it when we are stressed, sad, overwhelmed or simply need to rebalance and restore ourselves.
Forest Therapy, also known as Forest Bathing (the literal translation of Japanese Shinrin-Yoku) is an immersion experience in nature that aims to restore our relationship and reciprocity with the natural world.
It consists of a safe, slow and relaxed walk of about 2.5 hours, covering a short distance (usually no more than half a mile), where the guide facilitates a series of sensory invitations to slow down the rhythm of the mind and body, awaken the senses , be present and explore our kinship within the web of life.
Entrance to park and transport not included.
